What is a Dental Implant?
Dental implants are a realistic, strong and permanent way of replacing missing teeth. They can be used to replace a single tooth or a number of teeth, and can also be used as a much more comfortable and convenient method of keeping dentures in place.
An implant is a titanium metal post which is placed gently into the jaw bone. They gradually bond with the bone, creating what is, in effect, a false tooth root. This creates a strong and permanent support for a natural looking replacement.
Implants require specialist skills and knowledge to place. Dr White is one of a handful of dentists on the South Coast who has an MSc in Dental Implants. This is a postgraduate degree which he passed with distinction.
